MultiTech is a US global manufacturer of M2M and IoT communication devices. Recently the company has unveiled its pioneer System on Module (SoM) based on LTE Category M1 and NB-IoT technologies. This is the first cellular modem by Multi-Tech Systems oriented towards low-power wide-area networks (LPWAN).
The new ready-to-integrate LTE Cat M1 modules can boast a programmable computing platform functionality together with the convenience of an onboard cellular radio and a compact Nano design.

- Integrated Arm Cortex®-M4 processor for applications hosting and access to a complete suite of interfaces for linking sensors or other remote assets;
- 3GPP Release 13 compliant and NB-IoT ready;
- Extended coverage. Improved in-building penetration is meant to allow reaching assets deep inside buildings;
- Connection to the Dragonfly Nano: reduced redesign time and costs;
- Support of Arm Mbed OS;
- Power Saving Mode (PSM). Extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) mode is aimed at increasing the length of time the device can sleep. It alows to boost battery powered devices working time.
The new modules will quickly find its place in various loT applications requiring low power or low data rate connectivity. For ex., battery-operated sensors, asset trackers, solar powered parking meters.
