Automatic activation (recommended)

The software platform supports automatic device activation by applying APN settings, server address and port, as well as recommended tracking mode though the SMS channel. Normally you don’t need to configure anything manually. Just install the SIM card, switch the device ON and make sure it is located in the place with good GPS signal reception.

Manual configuration

If you experience issues with the SMS delivery from the platform to device in your country, you can setup device manually via “GalileoSky Configurator” software.

  • Install the configurator software

    :

i had the chance to use this device (gsm-type) and found it not very usable for us. even the manufacturer is well known for vehicle trackers, it’s probably their first experience with asset tracking devices. it seems they just put all the electronics from vehicle tracker into new casing and attached battery to it. no other adoptions were made to meet the needs of asset tracking. it event does not support cell-id location which is a must for such an application.

Peter, wrong about LBS support. In fact BoxFinder does support LBS, but in an uncommon way. It does not send cell id information to gps tracking server, but resolves the location itself using two services m2mlocate.telit.com and c.7gis.ru (so these two IPs must be accessible from the device). Then it sends position and accuracy to the tracking server.
